Cristian Chivu è Parma’s new coach

After officially exonerating Fabio Pecchia, Parma decided to entrust the bench to Cristian Chivu, who signed a contract with the Ducali until the end of the season, with an automatic renewal option in case of salvation.

"Parma Calcio dà welcomes Cristian Chivu, the new coach of the Men’s First Team. Chivu, along with his staff composed of Antonio Gagliardi (assistant coach), Angelo Palombo (technical collaborator) and Nicola Pavarini (goalkeeping coach), will lead the team in this afternoon’s scheduled training session at the Mutti Training Center in Collecchio. The club welcomes Cristian and his staff to the Gialloblu with the’best wishes for good work" this is the statement issued by the Emilian club.

The former Romanian defender began his coaching career in the Under-14 side of Inter. After working his way through the youth ranks, Chivu è was named coach of the Nerazzurri spring training. In his three seasons with the under-19s, the Resita native won the category Scudetto in 2022, with the best offense and defense.

Chivu's debut in Serie A è set for Saturday, March 22, when the Ducali face Bologna in the Emilia derby.
