ATP Ranking: Jannik Sinner number one until Monte Carlo, Matteo Berrettini returns to top 30
The ATP has updated the world rankings after the ATP 500s in Doha and Rio de Janeiro. The bad results of Alexander Zverev, eliminated in the quarterfinals by Francisco Comesana at the 'Rio Open', and Carlos Alcaraz, also eliminated in the quarterfinals by Jiri Lehecka at the 'Qatar Exxon Mobil Open', smile on Jannik Sinner.
Indeed, the world number one, waiting to return to play after a three-month suspension for the Clostebol case, will be assured of staying on top of the rankings until the Monte Carlo Masters 1000, which starts on April 6. Sinner, who holds 11330 ranking points, has a 3195-point lead over Zverev and 3820 over Alcaraz.
Among the other Azzurri, Matteo Berrettini is also smiling.
After reaching the quarterfinals in Doha, he gains 5 ranking positions and returns to the top 30, hoisting himself to 30th place. Also gaining a position are Matteo Arnaldi (33rd), Lorenzo Sonego (35th) and Flavio Cobolli (39th), while Lorenzo Musetti remains stable in 17th place.
Finally, Luciano Darderi climbs two places to 59th, Mattia Bellucci remains in 70th, and big leap by Luca Nardi who rises to 79th place after reaching the eighth place in Doha. Also in the top 100 are Francesco Passaro, 91st, and Fabio Fognini, 93rd.
