F1, Kimi Antonelli can’t wait to get started
The 18-year-old driver picks up the heavy legacy of Hamilton
While Hamilton is enjoying every moment of his new adventure with Ferrari, in Mercedes there's a very young driver who is eager to learn, as quickly as possible, what it means to be an F1 driver and, in particular, a Mercedes driver.
Antonelli, 18, è ready for his debut in the Formula 1 circus. This is the first Italian since 2021, Giovinazzi’s last year. He has a huge responsibility on him, namely to pick up the very heavy inheritance of seven-time World Champion Hamilton.
Despite the great pressure, Antonelli is looking forward to getting on track with Mercedes and proving that team principal Wolff was right to choose him: "I am working hard to improve myself year after year. There's an extraordinary energy in the factory, so I can't wait to get started", his words reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.
Being a rookie, è it is clear that Antonelli will need a period of adaptation and, probably, may incur some mistakes, precisely, as a rookie. However, those who know him well know that the 18-year-old driver from Bologna does not è type to be frightened in the face of adversitiesà. He knows that è his big chance, he knows that the whole world, especially the whole of Italy, will be watching him; but he feels ready for the challenge.
