Italy did not shine in the second round of the double downhill in Kvitfjell, Norway. In fact, the best among the Italian women è was Federica Brignone, who è placed seventh with a time of 1:33.98 just five hundredths behind Swiss Lara Gut-behrami, her main rival for the World Cup.

She loses as many as 11 positions from the first run Laura Pirovano, who pays a gap of as much as 93 hundredths from the fastest run Breezy Johnson. Also bad is Nicol Delago, who does not go beyond the 25th position with a 1.25 delay from the American.

A day to forget, however, for the other azzurre: Marta Bassino closes in 35th place with a gap of 2.19, Elena Curtoni è 39th at 2.34, Roberta Melesi 40th at 2.42, while Sofia Goggia even slips to 43rd with a delay of more than two and a half seconds. Finally, Asja Zenere and Vicky Bernardi close with 47th and 50th places.

The Kvitfjell program includes two downhill runs, Friday and Saturday, starting at 10:30 a.m., while on Sunday, also at 10:30 a.m., the super-G kicks off. This is a triptych of paramount importance in view of the World Cup and specialty cupsà. Beyond the overall standings, in which Brignone towers at 999 points, followed by Gut-Behrami at 809, both the downhill and super-G rankings are wide open. In downhill, the contention extends to at least four athletes: Brignone with 289 points, Goggia with 260, Huetter with 208 and Gut-Behrami with 175. Similar story in superG, where però it appears that the best chances are for Gut-Behrami at 385, followed by Brignone at 310 and Goggia at 246.
