Grazuils says goodbye, Virtus Bologna ready to return to the market

After a sports marriage that lasted just over six months, the paths of Virtus Bologna and Andrejs Grazulis officially parted on Tuesday, when the Bologna club announced the official transfer of the Latvian basketball player to Joventut Badalona. A farewell that opens an interesting market scenario as the season draws to a close.
“Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna S.p.A. announces that it has reached an agreement with Joventut Badalona for the transfer, on a temporary basis until June 30, 2025, of the rights to the sports performance of the athlete Andrejs Grazulis. The whole club wishes Andrejs a good end of the season” wrote the HCL club on its official channels, after finalizing the deal regarding the transfer.
With the farewell of the 1993 class, the Black Vu are pondering the possibility of returning to the market, however, to look for a player with a different role, specifically a guard or a small forward, in view of the season finale. From a regulatory point of view, Virtus can sign another non-EU player, although he cannot come from the Italian league.
The team coached by Dusko Ivanovic, having abandoned any chance of qualifying for the post-season of the’Euroleague, will focus on the championship, where after twenty-four days it shares the lead in the standings with Trapani Shark and Brescia, with a two-point advantage over Trento and Milan. It is precisely against the Red Shoes, however, that they will play the Euroleague derby on Friday, April 4, with the goal of winning to avenge the loss in the continental arena last Oct. 31.
