Angelo Binaghi takes a credit on Jannik Sinner

Angelo Binaghi during “Sky Up The Edit” at the Primo Levi State Scientific High School in Rome returned to talk about Jannik Sinner: “If we have one merit, it is precisely that of having created a system that brought him to us. What makes me proud are the successes, which are due in large part to this red-haired boy in addition to so many others who are achieving extraordinary results, and that is the result of developing a grassroots movement. It took us 24 years, and I think our two Davis Cups have a different value.”
“The other source of pride is that, compared to the stereotype that had been created of the exuberant and over-the-top Italian tennis player, we have managed to have witnesses of how fair and correct we Italians are. And this is even less programmable than making Sinner or Paolini what they are. These boys and girls promote the image of Italy in the world, we have an extraordinary combination of incredible achievements and a narrative that is recognized in the world.”
“If I had to choose between the two I would keep more the second one. The investments in tennis have the best social returns. We have been bringing tennis into schools for a couple of years, when I started it was said it would never happen. We want to keep investing more and more, we don’t just want to introduce them to tennis but make them fall in love with our sports. We want more and more kids to stay in tennis and become continuous practitioners.”
