He won&#8217t be able to lend a hand to his Lube Civitanova teammates for the remainder of the season, but Fabio Balaso tries to look past the bad luck, twenty-four hours after the reduction and osteosynthesis operation on the fracture in his right hand that, in fact, will not allow him to take part in either the playoff semifinals against Perugia or the eventual Scudetto final, should the Cuccinieri qualify.

“Immediately after the fracture in my right hand I was in low spirits – explained Balaso -I was angry with the knowledge that I could not help my teammates in such a delicate and exciting phase of the season. Then I was able to digest, these mishaps can happen to us sportsmen and sometimes they are not predictable. What really matters is getting back up without losing heart and being able to support the team even off the field. I hope to help my teammates in the Semifinals series with my closeness and energy”.

“I think it is my duty to be grateful – added the Lube captain -, first and foremost with the fans and the many people who have written me words of comfort and wishes for a speedy recovery. I hope to surprise everyone and get back on the court as soon as possible, of course depending on how I feel and post-surgery rehabilitation. I will give my best to accelerate without risk”.

“Although I will be missing, I really do not think that Lube will change its attitude– he later said. On the contrary, I believe that the team will go on the court even more determined and strong-willed to fight in the most important phase of the playoffs. Of course, I will confront with Francesco Bisotto before the match with the Block Devils, I want to give him a hand to face the series with serenity and a lot of energy”.
