After the narrow loss against Juventus, Genoa will be called upon to restart as early as the next league match against Udinese, where the goal will be to win the three points to secure salvation. Speaking at a press conference, Griffon coach Patrick Vieira, among other topics, returned to the narrow defeat his boys suffered against the Bianconeri at Allianz Stadium.

“Compliments for the performance against Juventus are nice, but in the end we didn&#8217t take any points and that bothers me. We want and need to grow especially in the details. The goal we conceded did not make me sleep at night, we have to do better defensively” began the Genoa coach.

“A challenge awaits us against a very physical opponent with great individual qualities. In the first match the red card they got made it easier for us, however, we are doing well at home in recent matches, so we will try to do our best to win. We will have to be focused, aggressive and play with intensity” continued the red-blue coach.

“Our goal is to take another step toward salvation, with Lecce we made a good leap, but there are still many matches to play and it will be important for us to stay focused by continuing to work on details. We have not lost focus and we will be ready to take the field giving our best” added the former Nice coach.

“We handled the situation in three different steps: first it was important to have stability and now we have it. The second step was about playing identity and now we&#8217ve found it. The last step is to work on details to be even more competitive. Less compliments and more points” Patrick Vieira concluded.
