Inter are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of next season. In fact, the Nerazzurri have set their eyes on Luis Henrique, a young Brazilian talent from Olympique Marseille. The 23-year-old striker, who is impressing in Ligue 1, has attracted the Nerazzurri managers’attention. The management’s goal would be to bring him to Milan before the start of the Club World Cup, a tournament that will begin on June 15. Despite competition from prestigious clubs such as Bayern Munich, Inter have moved ahead and hope to close the deal as early as May.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Nerazzurri management initiated contacts with Marseille about three weeks ago. The goal is to overcome the other suitors and take advantage of the good relationship with the French club. Inter would like to close the negotiations at a lower figure than the 30-35 million initially requested by the French. In fact, Olympique Marseille’s valuation of the player is higher than what Inter is willing to spend. We are talking about figures between 20 and 25 million euros. To lower the price, the Nerazzurri could propose a payment based on bonuses linked to results or even insert a technical quid pro quo, so as to make the deal more convenient.

Inter clearly has in mind to bring Henrique to Milan to reinforce the attack and make him available to Simone Inzaghi already in view of the World Club Championship. One element that reinforces the’idea that the negotiations are well underway is the presence at the San Siro of Olympique Marseille sporting director Mehdi Benatia during the Coppa Italia derby. This visit seems to be a sign that the two clubs are working in sync to find an agreement, and that Inter wants to close the details as soon as possible.

Despite Bayern Munich’s interest in the talented youngster, Inter is in pole position for the purchase of Luis Henrique. The Nerazzurri’s move to get ahead of the competition and set up serious negotiations could prove decisive in bringing the Brazilian to Inzaghi’s court. The coach from Piacenza could thus count on another offensive talent for his team.
