Luciano Darderi gets off to a bad start but then overwhelms Gaston in Marrakech

The adventure of Luciano Darderi at the Marrakech ATP 250 continues. The Italian tennis player, in fact, won in a comeback over Frenchman Hugo Gaston with a score of 2-6 6-2 6-3, after almost two hours of play.

In the first set there&#8217s only Gaston on the court, who won five of the first six games. Down two breaks, Darderi attempted a minimal reaction, but the Frenchman was skillful in closing the partial set with a clear 6-2.

In the second set, it is the Azure who gets off to a better start, as after failing as many as five break points in the second game, he manages to snatch service from his rival in the fourth game. After confirming the lead, the class of 2002 is adept at not only managing the advantage, but also increasing it by finding another break in the eighth game, thus winning the second partial by earning the chance to serve first in the deciding set.

In the third and decisive set, the inertia was still on Darderi&#8217s side, who immediately flew away in the score with a four-games-to-one lead. With his back against the wall, Gaston tries to stay in the match tooth and nail, even nullifying five match points in the eighth game. In the next game, however, the Azure thanks to his service game in his favor managed to close the score at the eighth attempt.

In the quarterfinals, Luciano Darderi will face the winner of the match between Vit Kopriva and Lorenzo Sonego.
