In his last race Stefano Gross wins Italian slalom title

The Fassa Valley Italian Absolute Alpine Skiing Championships, successfully organized by the FassActive ski club, in collaboration with Apt Val di Fassa and Val di Fassa Great Events, ended with two significant reconfirmations.

In the special slalom on the Piavac slope in the Ski Area Alpe di Lusia, Fassa’s Stefano Gross won the tricolor title for the third year in a row, imitated in the women’s field by Marta Rossetti, who reconfirmed her gold medal from twelve months ago.

Stefano Gross is therefore prophet in his homeland, Tommaso Saccardi is at his side: the slalom of the Assumed Italian Championships, saddened by the serious injury to Federica Brignone in the women’s giant slalom, rewarded the veteran of the Fiamme Gialle, at the last tricolor event of his career, and the 23-year-old from Emilia of the Carabinieri, authors of the identical time of 1’30″04. For Gross, this is the third consecutive tricolor title, the fifth overall; Saccardi, on the other hand, celebrates his own debut on the top step of the podium at the Absolute Italian Championships.

On the Piavac slope of the Ski Area Alpe Lusia, Gross found the cue in the first run to get ahead of everyone, tailed by Saccardi just six hundredths of a second behind. The decisive fraction then offered a similar epilogue, with the Carabiniere closing the gap to finish tied with the financier. Hannes Zingerle (Carabinieri) then climbed onto the third step of the podium, just three hundredths behind. Thus remain without medals Edoardo Saracco (Carabinieri) and Simon Maurberger (Carabinieri), fourth and fifth respectively with 0″09 and 0″20 difference from the two new Italian champions. Maurberger himself is the first athlete at the finish line in key Grand Prix Italia Dicoflor, the circuit dedicated to athletes not included in the federal teams: the South Tyrolean precedes fellow Italian Matteo Canins (Carabinieri), eighth, and the other Fassano athlete Federico Liberatore (Fiamme Oro), ninth.

Turning to the women’s challenge Marta Rossetti (Fiamme Oro) is again Italian slalom champion. The Brescian confirmed her April 2024 success, again on the Piavac slope at Alpe di Lusia.

In the lead since the first run, the Gardesana crossed the finish line with an overall time of 1’39″86, keeping 25 hundredths of a second margin over Lara Della Mea from Carnia (Esercito), who was able in the second fraction to move up six positions in the ranking; on the third step of the podium, detached by 0″49, then climbs Martina Peterlini from Trentino (Fiamme Oro). Next, Laura Steinmair (Army) is fourth at 0″51, with Alice Pazzaglia (Army) fifth at 0″92 and Celina Haller (Yellow Flames) sixth at 1″03.

The Fassa slalom was also valid for the Dicoflor Youth Italian Grand Prix, the circuit dedicated to athletes in the junior and aspiring categories who are not included in the national teams.

Sixteen-year-old Anna Trocker (Seiser Alm Ski Team) with the 11th time was the best in both categories, followed by junior Giulia Romele (Val Palot Ski) and Sofia Parravicini (Fiamme Gialle). Marta Giaretta (Fiamme Gialle) and Vittoria Rossi (Sc 2000), however, completed the under-18 podium.
