Paris Saint-Germain champions of France once again, for the fourth consecutive time. PSG confirms itself as the ruler of Ligue 1 again in 2024-2025, clinching the title even with seven days left in the championship. Doue’s goal against Angers’Angers in fact proved to be enough to set the 1-0 scoreline worth +24 over second-placed Monaco. A distance that can no longer be bridged.

After 28 league games, PSG thus stands at 74 points. This is the fruit of 23 wins and five draws, in a Ligue 1 journey still devoid of defeats at this point in the season. The Paris-based team wins the French top league for the thirteenth time in its history. In the last thirteen championships it only let it slip away in 2017 (Monaco) and 2021 (Lille).

An absolutely unstoppable streak for the Parisian club, which was founded in 1970 and had won the French championship just twice until 1994. Impressive is the change of pace over the past decade, which has since made PSG the most titled club in France. Second in terms of league wins is in fact Saint-Etienne stationary at 10 even since 1980-’81. They are followed by Marseille, which has won Ligue 1 nine times, Monaco and Nantes are paired at 8.

PSPG’s season is not over, however. Indeed, the Parisians are chasing the Champions League that has always eluded them in all their years of dominance in France. Next chance to advance in Europe is the challenge in the quarterfinals against Aston Villa’Aston Villa. The club from the transalpine capital has only one international title on its trophy cabinet: the Cup Winners Cup won in 1995-’96.
