Lazio knocked out a 1-0 thrashing of an Atalanta unrecognizable in Bergamo in the match valid for the 31st day of Serie A and scored a crucial victory for the race for the Champions League after three matches without success. The Capitolini came out on top with Isaksen’s goal, climbing to 55 points in fifth place. Worrying third knockout in a row for La Dea, stuck at 58 points in third place.

A very tactical first half, without emotions and with many inaccuracies by the two teams. Atalanta mostly managed the ball possession but created few chances, while Lazio stayed in wait. On the half-hour Baroni was forced to replace Tavares with Luca Pellegrini due to injury.

In the second half the game changed, with the teams opening up: the guests were immediately dangerous with Dele Bashiru, while Dea came close to scoring with Kolasinac and Lookman. At 54′ the advantage of the biancocelesti: Isaksen, who came on at the start of the second half in place of Tchaouna, scored on an assist from Dele-Bashiru.

Gasperini played the De Ketelaere card, in for Cuadrado, but his team was unable to react as he hoped, thanks to the many mistakes of the Nerazzurri players. Instead, it was Lazio that made itself more dangerous in 73′ with Pellegrini, who with a cross shot engaged Carnesecchi in a dive.

Gasperini decided to revolutionize the attack in the last quarter of an hour, taking off Retegui and Lookman and inserting Samardzic and Maldini, and then Brescianini for Ederson, but it was not a day for the Orobici, who were never able to seriously threaten Mandas.
