Pogacar demolishes all: what a triumph at the Tour of Flanders

A triumphant ride by Tadej Pogacar at the Tour of Flanders: the Slovenian cyclist gave another show of strength by seeding everyone with 20 kilometers to go in the Monument Classic, which he won for the second time in his career. Pogacar took revenge on Mathieu van der Poel, who had beaten him in March at the Milano-Sanremo.
The Dutch cyclist, already a three-time winner of the Flemish race, finished third, behind Dane Mads Pedersen. Fourth was Van Aert. Pogacar was unleashed in the last 50 km, and after a series of attacks on the Flemish walls he managed to shake off Van der Poel, his most dangerous rival and a great specialist of this race.
The Dutch rider, a three-time winner of the Flemish race, came in third place.
For Pogacar it is the’eighth Monumental Classic won in his career: he joined Rick Van Looy in sixth place overall, behind only Merckx, De Vlaeminck, Coppi, Girardengo and Kelly.
The best of the Italians was Filippo Ganna, who finished eighth after a fine final sprint.
