Novak Djokovic goes down direct on Jannik Sinner

Novak Djokovic in an interview with the newspaper L’Équipe spoke about the’current leader of world tennis, Jannik Sinner, topping the ATP rankings for the 44th consecutive week despite the forced suspension for the Clostebol case. None of his rivals have been able to undermine the Blue, who will return to the court in Rome and then Roland Garros.
“When you win a Slam, you win 2,000 points, which is a lot… Probably Zverev is not happy with his last few tournaments, as I imagine Alcaraz is not either, but everyone has been playing fantastic tennis lately”, Nole explained.
“The dominance we had become accustomed to, or expected to see, is no longer guaranteed. However, the season is long, and I am sure that the three players we have just mentioned will be the three who will contend for the number one spot in the world at the end of the’year” continued the winner of 24 Grand Slam tournaments.
Djokovic, on the other hand, hardly looks at the world ranking: “If it comes as a consequence of great results and titles that I win in a season, then that is great. But that’s not my goal. My goal is to be able to play my best tennis in the Grand Slam tournaments and the tournaments I participate in. My schedule is small, so obviously I don”t chase ranking points and everything else”.
