These are the statements made by Inter coach Simone Inzaghi on the eve of the away match against Bayern Munich, valid for the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals.

“We know what our path has been and we are aware that we are not happy with the result of the last game. We wanted to win, but unfortunately in the second half we were remounted and now we have this great challenge ahead of us against a very strong team. Bayern I think is the favorite together with Real Madrid for the final victory, but the boys know what we spent to get here, so we will try to give our best” began the Nerazzurri coach.

“Bastoni is more yes than no, while Dimarco the opposite. Calhanoglu took a hit in training, he has pain but I think he can make it. Lautaro we agreed that he would not play the whole match with Parma, as he came from a muscle injury. In the last league match we could only make one change by choice. There’s disappointment with the draw we got, but now we have to face Bayern” continued the meneghini’s coach.

“It&#8217s been four years that we have been thinking one game at a time. We have won six titles and it could have been eight, I am proud of what we have done and what we can do. My guys should be applauded, we have been struggling for two months. I end up with 14 to 15 players and all they talk about is Bayern’s absences. We have five players out, however, I know that and we move forward, knowing that we will have to deal with a very big hurdle” added the’former Lazio.

“we have grown considerably compared to two and a half years ago. The gap in the budget is obvious, however, in the first eight days of the championship stage we did better than a great team like Bayern, which plays excellent soccer and has a very good coach. They, like us, will have absences, so everyone will have to be involved, as there will be times when we all have to suffer together” concluded Simone Inzaghi.
