Bologna, double tegola: Lewis Ferguson and Lukasz Skorupski forced to stop

Twenty-four hours after the home match against Napoli, which allowed Bologna to confirm fourth place in the standings, the Felsinei have to deal with two important stops, those of goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski and midfielder Lewis Ferguson. The Polish goalkeeper (who, by the way, just on Tuesday extended his contract) had come off at 25′ of the match against the partenopei, making way for Ravaglia, while the Scot was kept on the bench for the entire duration of the match.

The red and blue club indicated the nature of the injuries and their recovery times: “The examinations to which Lukasz Skorupski and Lewis Ferguson underwent – explained the club in a note – showed a low-grade injury of the right adductor and a low-grade injury of the right rectus femoris, respectively. Recovery time for both is three weeks”.

Bologna arrived at Monday’s match on the wave of five straight league wins: a roster that has fans dreaming, eager to participate for the second consecutive year in the Champions League. The calendar, however, offers in the upcoming matches challenges on paper complex: until the end of the season, Vincenzo Italiano’s team will face Atalanta, Inter, Udinese, Juventus, Milan, Fiorentina and Genoa.

The Rossoblù are, moreover, semifinalists in the Coppa Italia against ’Empoli: in the ’first leg, played at ‘Castellani’ last April 1, Bologna won 3-0 dragged by Orsolini&#8217s goal and Dallinga’s brace, while the return match is scheduled for April 24 at ‘Dall’Ara’. The Felsinei have won the Coppa Nazionale twice, in 1970 (winning the final round with Torino, Cagliari and Varese) and in 1974 (beating Palermo in the final on penalties after the 1-1 draw at 120′).
