Christian Kouamé, new serious injury: long stop expected for Ivorian

The fears of the eve, in the Empoli house, have been confirmed by the examinations to which Christian Kouamé, injured during the game between the Tuscans and Cagliari on Sunday, has undergone today: the Ivorian has in fact reported the rupture of the anterior cruciate and will therefore be forced to close prematurely the season to begin a long rehabilitation.

“Empoli Football Club announces that the instrumental examinations to which the player Christian Kouamé, who came out during the match against Cagliari, has undergone have shown the injury of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee” reads the official statement regarding the conditions of the player arrived at the end of the winter market from nearby Florence.

Joined to Roberto D’Aversa&#8217s court on a temporary basis to try to help Empoli reach safety, Kouamé played nine games between Feb. 8 and April 6, also scoring in last March 29’s 1-1 draw against Como. The’only match in which he had not taken the field so far was the April 1 match against Bologna, which ended 3-0 to the Felsinei.

The adventure in Empoli, in fact, ends here for Christian Kouamé: the player will in fact return to Fiorentina at the end of the season, finding himself forced to wait several months before he can see the field again. The 1997 class had already suffered a serious injury to his ACL, in the 2019-2020 season, during a match of the Ivory Coast U23 team, when Kouamé was owned by Genoa.
