Flavio Cobolli doesn’t stop: debut on velvet in Monte Carlo

After his wonderful success in Bucarest, Flavio Cobolli has no intention of stopping. In his debut at the Monte Carlo Masters 1000, the Roman overwhelmed Dusan Lajovic, world number 109, defeated with a final score of 6-4 6-2 in just one’hour and fourteen minutes of play.
A rocket start for the Azure who, after an exchange of early breaks, quickly flew out to a 5-1 lead. Here Cobolli suffered the Serb’s comeback (4-5) but on the sixth useful set point he made the first partial his (6-4).
Little balance also in the second partial: from 2-2 the Roman strung together a partial of four consecutive games with which he gave himself the victory and access to the round of 16 of the ‘Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters’.
In the next round Cobolli will find the winner of the match between Arthur Fils, the 12th seeded seed, and Tallon Griekspoor, defeated in the final in Marrakech by Luciano Darderi.
