Anna Kalinskaya ready to get back in the game

The recent participation in the WTA tournament in Charleston has returned to fans a version of Anna Kalinskaya decidedly brighter than at the beginning of the year: overcoming even a few aches and pains, the Moscow tennis player climbed all the way to the third round, beating among others the winner of the Australian Open, Madison Keys, before succumbing to Sofia Kenin, then finalist of the tournament.
Kalinskaya thus returned to good feelings on the court even in singles tournaments, where she had struggled in this early 2025, as well as in doubles tournaments played first together with Priscilla Hon and then with Caty McNally. The world rankings have seen her drop out of the Top 30 after reaching 11th place in October 2024, but the good results have restored her confidence ahead of upcoming engagements.
It remains to be seen where the Russian tennis player will return to play: there is still a chance to see her in Stuttgart, in the WTA 500 tournament scheduled for April 14-20, but it is possible that the 26-year-old will be back in action a little later in the Madrid tournament, to kick off the clay court phase of the season leading to Roland Garros, via Rome.
Anna Kalinskaya has participated twice in the Internazionali d’Italia, taking into account appearances in the main draw, reaching the third round in both 2023 and 2024, with a record of three wins and two losses. Instead, in 2020 he participated in the qualifiers but did not reach the main draw, with a record of one win and one loss.
