Cagliari celebrates historic triumph, Nicolo Barella addresses message to his former team

Beating by 3-0 the peer age group of Milan in the final played Wednesday at the’Arena Civica in the Lombard capital, Cagliari Primavera won the Italian Cup for the first time in its category, giving a prestigious success to the redblue club, the first at the level of Primavera teams in the national knockout competition.
Putting the seal on the success of the team coached by Fabio Pisacane were the goals scored by Alessandro Vinciguerra, class of 2005, at 21′, Alessandro Bolzan, also 2005, at 37′ and finally by 2006 Yael Trepy, who closed the score definitively at minute 69. Nothing to do for the Rossoneri led by Federico Guidi, whose last Primavera Italian Cup won remains that of the 2009-2010 season.
On the sidelines of the Rossoblù triumph, even the Nicolò Barella, a Cagliari native born and raised in Sestu, at Cagliari from the youth team until 2019 (with a brief interlude on loan at Como in 2016), wanted to congratulate the young boys of his former team: “I tried for so many years but I did not succeed – he told ‘Sportitalia’ -. The boys have realized one of my dreams: to win with the Cagliari jersey”.
They have done it.
To get to the success, Cagliari beat in the’order Torino 2-0 in the round of 16 (two goals by Ivan Sulev), Fiorentina in the quarterfinals after penalties (4-3 in the series of shots from the eleven meters after the 2-2 at 90′, with two goals scored by Trepy) and Juventus in the semifinals 2-0 (goals by Vinciguerra and Bolzan, the latter on a penalty kick), before the triumph at the Civic Arena against Milan.
