Ducati, Marc Marquez: brother Alex's unexpected outburst

The crash at Austin in the Grand Prix of the Americas cost Marc Marquez the top spot in the MotoGP standings, overtaken by his brother Alex, for the first time in his career at the top of the MotoGP World Championship standings.
“It is very difficult to get there, but it is more difficult to stay there – admitted the Gresini Racing rider in an’interview with Corriere della Sera -. But we are just at the beginning and we have a lot of work ahead”.
“Marc was pissed about the crash in Texas, but he is the first to be happy about my World Championship – added the Spaniard -. We joked about it, some teasing of our own”.
On the rivalry with his brother: “Everyone is convinced that now a psychological war between us will start, but actually with my brother the psychological war started as soon as I was born. Always, about everything. And it is still like that today. When we go out on our bikes to train, in the evening we do the math, nobody wants to come second… Between brothers there is always rivalry, but healthy and beautiful”.
“How do the parents experience it? Father is happy and relaxed. He was very nervous when things didn’t turn around. Seeing a son in pain, unable to express himself, used to put him on edge. Now seeing us both at our best makes him happy. Mom cries, every race… And she overwhelms us with recommendations. She even tells Marc to let me win sometimes, because she thinks I deserve it”.
“If I want to aim for the title I have to beat him. Marc claims that in some circuits, at least 2-3, I am stronger than him. So I will try to beat him at least four times… But the victories, if they come, will still be a consequence of teamwork. Gresini has grown so much and is more organized” concluded Alex Marquez.
