“So far, so good enough”. That’s what Andrea Kimi Antonelli thinks about his first season in F1, and you certainly can’t blame the young Bolognese driver, who is coming into his own with Mercedes.

“I understand the tires better and better, in the first two races I struggled but in Suzuka it was better, it was a big step forward for me in terms of confidence and understanding the car” he said during the press conference in Bahrain.

“I am learning. George (Russell, his teammate, ed.) is driving very well and helping me grow – he added – The speed is there’it&#8217s there. I want to maintain a positive trend, keep working hard, and then we will see what the results will be on Sunday.”

“I can&#8217t wait to get out on a track I know. It will be much warmer than in testing, but I want to start and continue to improve the pace in qualifying,” concluded the 18-year-old Antonelli on the eve of the three-day event at the Sakhir circuit.
