In the course of an interview given to the microphones of the “Corriere della Sera”, the athletic trainer of Jannik Sinner Marco Panichi, among the various topics covered, wanted to extol one aspect in particular of his client.

“Coordination, stamina, neurovegetative aspect: Jannik has a decathlete’s physique, he can do everything well. If he were stronger, he could not be so agile. If he is a near-perfect machine we have Hanspeter and Siglinde Sinner, the parents who passed the DNA on to him, to thank. From my point of view, however, his best talent is his handling of situations, whether it is a training session or a game he manages to have an operational calm that makes the difference in the moments that matter” debuted the athletic trainer of the South Tyrolean.

“Mind and physique are an integrated system: when one pulls him down, the’other pushes him up. He knows how to use emotions as a source of energy: if you have an emotional pour, you get stuck, but he knows how to surf on emotions, always staying on the crest of the wave. You can work on the body and mind, but with Jannik&#8217s gifts you have to be born with it to be able to reach such a level” added the former Novak Djokovic team member.

“The motivational aspect is crucial: we are constantly challenging Jannik with new stresses, pushing him to do new things, unprecedented for him. Even simple ones: a game of golf, a visit to a museum. Expanding the mental sphere makes it possible to show up fresher to’training. However, it is also true that some repetitiveness is useful in comparison, without running the risk of caging the player in something too monotonous. It’s variety in the work protocol that allows us to understand whether Sinner&#8221s development is going well” concluded Marco Panichi.
