She passed away at the nursing home “Anni Sereni” in Treviglio, Bergamo, Italy, Giacoma Lanzeni, the last of seven siblings all of whom lived long lives. She had turned 100 years old.

Giacoma always showed a strong temperament. She passed away in her sleep, peacefully, after a long and intense existence. An independent, tenacious woman with a great passion for cycling and motorcycling, she was a big fan of Valentino Rossi, as her grandson Pierluigi Lanzeni told PrimaTreviglio.

“I discovered it by chance – he said. “One day I entered the house and found her in front of the TV, intent on watching a race. I was amazed and she said, ‘Why do you wonder? I have always followed them. Without Valentino it’s not the same’. Even the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France, according to her, no longer had the appeal they once did: ‘They used to sweat, not like now.”
