Tegola in defense for Antonio Conte’s Napoli ahead of the match with Empoli. Alessandro Buongiorno, who has already missed the Bologna trip, will not be there against Empoli next Monday and probably not even in Monza on Saturday 19.

The Neapolitan club has issued a statement on the condition of the 25-year-old Napoli and national team defender. Here is the text of the statement.

“Alessandro Buongiorno underwent instrumental examinations that showed a tendinopathy of the long adductor muscle of the right thigh. The Azzurri footballer has already started the rehabilitation process.”

Buongiorno, who grew up in Torino, arrived at Napoli this year after spending the last four seasons continuously in the Granata shirt, with which he made his Serie A debut on April 4, 2018 before going on loan to Carpi and Trapani and returning to base under the Mole, before moving to Napoli last summer.
