Inter-Cagliari, Inzaghi satisfied, one regret for Nicola

These are the words of Inter coach Simone Inzaghi to DAZN microphones after the 3-1 victory against Cagliari: “We cared a lot about this match, we knew it was not easy but we did well. There was the distraction of 2-1, but the team remained focused. There’s a lot of effort, but we are proud of what we are doing. Last year we made 48 games and this is already number 49 in the season”.
“It“s a super-performing season, we have to adjust and we’re doing it with great sacrifice from everyone. We must not forget that there’s always a team in front, well coached, clearly we are the first to know that on Piccoli’s goal we had to do better, however, there’s also some skill on the cross of their full-back.”
“The challenge with Bayern Munich? There is a lot of confidence knowing that we play against a very strong team, we will have to replicate the match of the first leg. We won’t have to manage anything and we won’t have to look at the result, we will have to play a race of race and determination” concluded Inzaghi.
The following, on the other hand, are the words of Vagliari coach Davide Nicola: “We were a little bit too soft in the first two goals taken, we were not determined in reading. We did not have the determination we had then in the second half, although paradoxically we had a great chance to make it 1-1. Then on 3-1 De Vrij saved on the line, it would have been fun to put them in trouble”.
“We were not satisfied for the first 25′ we were slipping late, we were not always moving with right timing, we were content to make density. In the second half we did it with order and courage, accepting Inter’s qualities. Paradoxically, then, we conceded less. We are happy with the performance, we want to improve the ability to read the movements with the right timing, against teams like this, mistakes you pay them a lot”, Nicola concluded.
