Lazio soccer market: Christos Mandas has taken the goal of the Biancocelesti, with Marco Baroni expected to rely on him as a starter in the derby against Roma as well. A situation that could have consequences for the future of Ivan Provedel, who at this point could look around and decide to make a change of scenery next season.

Talking about it is ‘Il Messaggero’ in its Saturday edition, stating that Lazio’s management itself sees eye to eye on a farewell from him. Provedel is after all one of the team’s highest-paid players, but he has an existing contract until 2027. The former Spezia goalkeeper could therefore dictate his own terms before possibly leaving the capital.

After all, his odds seem to be increasingly falling thanks to the top performances offered by Mandas in recent weeks. The Greek has gone unbeaten in Serie A on six out of 10 occasions since taking the starting jersey for Lazio. In the same matches, the Biancocelesti have given themselves seven wins, two draws and the very defeat against Roma in the derby last April 6.

Provedel, for his part, has no intention of entering a career downward parabola. After also joining the national team thanks to his spell in Lazio, he would like to continue in a big one. It is not easy, however, and according to the Capitoline newspaper he is waiting to see where Maurizio Sarri’s adventure on the bench can start again. Should the same coach who wanted him at biancoceleste accept a new contract, the Friulian goalkeeper could also decide to follow him.
