The Los Angeles Lakers unstoppable against the Houston Rockets thanks to a Luka Doncic on a night of grace. Nikola Jokic, on the other hand, is decisive in giving the certainty of the NBA playoffs to Denver. Important in the Eastern Conference are then the victories of Milwaukee, Orlando, Atlanta, Chicago and Miami.
Speaking of 39 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists is Luka Doncic’s personal tally in the 140-109 Lakers’ thrashing of the Rockets, who certain of their second place in the Western Conference can afford to rotate several men in Los Angeles. This allows the Californians to take a hugely important victory, and one that is worth third place in the West.
Also heavy was the Denver Nuggets’ victory over the Memphis Grizzlies: a 117-109 in which on the shields ends Nikola Jokic with a triple double (26 points, 16 rebounds and 13 assists). At the buzzer comes the Clippers’ win against the Sacramento Kings (100-101), which could weigh heavily in the race to the post season and sees its main protagonists in Kawhi Leonard (29 points) and James Harden (23 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists).
In the East, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 108-102 win over the New York Knicks, who were beaten after leading by as much as 23 points, goes on record.
Darius Garland’s 26 points and 13 assists were noteworthy. Also smiling are the Milwaukee Bucks, who beat the Detroit Pistons in the direct clash for fifth place in the Conference: it ends 119-125, thanks to the usual monumental performance of Giannis Antetokounmpo (32 points, 15 assists and 11 rebounds).
