Milan, scare definitely forgotten for Mike Maignan

Mike Maignan puts his definitely behind the scare in Udine. The Milan goalkeeper and captain had left everyone with bated breath after a nasty blow to the head in an aerial collision with teammate Alex Jimenez, but the residual reasons for apprehension have dissolved.

After leaving the field on a stretcher being substituted by Marco Sportiello from 61′ of Udinese-Milan, Maignan spent the night between Friday and Saturday in hospital for observation. Already during the following morning, however, he was finally discharged. For him, no physical problems, hence the decision to immediately get back on the road to return to Milan.

It was merely a precautionary hospitalization for him, but already in the first minutes after the hit the atmosphere in the Milan household was absolutely serene. Maignan never lost consciousness, and all the clinical examinations he underwent in the meantime proved negative.

Therefore confirmed for him a “simple” head injury, with no worse problems. Recovery time should therefore also be decidedly short, with Maignan soon to be back at Sergio Conceiçao’s disposal. The AC Milan coach himself, in the heat of the game, had moreover described himself as even “moved” by the applause dedicated to Maignan by the Udinese fans: “Applauding the’man after the booing of the footballer was a beautiful gesture”.
