Despite being chosen by the fans as “Driver of the day” for the Bahrain Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton says he is far from happy with the fifth place finish, which he nonetheless achieved with a fine comeback from ninth place on the grid. Speaking with ‘Sky Sports‘ on the sidelines of the race, the British champion did not hide his bitterness.

“I did not think that the’start of the season would be so difficult – he said -. I did not think that my performance would be like this nor did I imagine that I would have this difficulty adapting to the new car. What is certain is that I will keep pushing, I am certainly not a quitter. Today I showed that I can react”.

The’only real satisfaction for Lewis Hamilton in these first months in Ferrari was the success in the China Sprint Race. In qualifying and the race, however, the number 44 never finished higher than fifth, while his teammate Charles Leclerc twice came close to a podium finish in long GPs, including the one at the Sakhir circuit.

Having arrived at Ferrari with enormous expectations, Hamilton has struggled in these first few races but is optimistic about what the future holds: the season is still long, with 20 more race weekends to go, although there are very few moments of rest, as already next weekend there is a race in Saudi Arabia, on the fast Jeddah street circuit.
