McLaren: Piastri thrilled, Norris makes mea culpa

McLaren driver Oscar Piastri expressed all his satisfaction with the victory in Bahrain: “A great result and an incredible weekend, which started with qualifying on Saturday. Today I completed the job and I would say in fine style as well. I can’t thank the team enough for the car they provided me with. I am very proud of what I did today in the race”.

The highlight: “Without a doubt the entry of the Safety Car. I would have preferred it not to be there but I was still pretty confident. I knew I had a very good pace. Everything depended on restarting in the right way. Norris in turn had medium tires and we knew that was the right tire for us”.

Lando Norris, third, was not satisfied with his race: “I made a lot of mistakes even in overtaking, I was out of position. It was a very confusing race for me, disappointing not to bring home a one-two for McLaren, it would have been really nice. Tough race but still there is some positive aspect”.
