Camilla Rosatello no longer stops in Rouen

Camilla Rosatello’s run continues in the “Open Capfinances Rouen Métropole” (WTA 250 – prize money $239,212), promoted last year to the higher category (until 2023 it was a WTA 125), which is being played on the clay of the “Kindarena Sports Complex” in the Normandy capital of northern France.
The 29-year-old from Saluzzo, No. 288 WTA, who was promoted from the qualifiers, beat the U.S.’s Alycia Parks, No. 53 ranking and sixth seeded favorite, 6-2 6-3 in just one hour and 18 minutes of play in her main draw debut.
Rosatello will have to contend on Wednesday in the round of 16 with Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse, No. 90 WTA: the 27-year-old from Bucharest won in two sets without history in her only previous match with the Piedmontese, played in the decisive round of the 2021 WTA qualifiers in Palermo.
For the Piedmontese player, it is her seventh participation in a main draw of the major circuit after Rabat 2024 (defeated in the second round), Monastir (out in the first round), Palermo (out in the second round) and Rome (eliminated in the first round) 2023, Rome and Strasbourg 2018 (always beaten in the first round).
Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina, No. 18 WTA – just back from the BJK Cup Qualifiers where her national team pulled off a pass to the September Finals in Shenzhen -, leads the seeding.
