Jannik Sinner has postponed his on-court training in Monte Carlo. The blue tennis player from Tuesday may return to training at a federation-affiliated club after the two-month break over the Clostebol case, but he preferred to delay his return.

At the Monte Carlo country club, many fans and reporters were waiting for him, but the tennis player from San Candido decided to devote himself only to physical activity in the gym, postponing on-court sessions for the time being. Sky reports. The world number one didn&#8217t want to force his return (partly because of the uncertain weather) and is still taking his time: the three-time Slam winner could show up on Wednesday or Thursday, when he will also meet with his entire staff.

Sinner will return to play on the circuit on May 9 or 10, at the Internazionali d’Italia in Rome, and it will be crucial to regain his match rhythm soon after three months of enforced stop.

The Azzurro has so far been training in the gym or on private courts with non-member sparring partners, but in a few days it will be serious business: the goal after Rome is Roland Garros and the grass season leading up to the long-awaited Wimbledon.
