Fiorentina, Zaniolo rebus: Raffaele Palladino is adamant

The 2-1 win in the first leg in Slovenia does not allow Fiorentina to make too many experiments ahead of the fourth return match of the Conference League that the Viola will face on Thursday against Celje, but Raffaele Palladino, coach of the Gigliati, says he is confident that his team will give its all to reach, for the third consecutive year, the top four positions of the third European competition.
In the press conference, Palladino spoke among other things about a player who, in recent times, has not found much space but who in the first leg against Celje played almost the entire match, Nicolò Zaniolo. “The change of system did not make it easier for him – admitted the purple coach -, but he is a footballer who since his arrival has made himself available to the team, committing himself to the maximum”.
“There are several games to go, I am convinced that he will be able to prove his worth here too” added Palladino still talking about the’former of Virtus Entella, Inter, Roma, Galatasaray, Aston Villa and Atalanta, who since March has collected just 9 minutes of play in the league, playing 101 between the return leg of the round of 16 and the first leg of the quarterfinals in the Conference League.
Son d’art (his father Igor played from 1992 to 2013, also passing through places such as Spezia, Cosenza, Ternana, Messina, Salernitana and Genoa), Nicolò Zaniolo boasts a Primavera Championship and a Super Cup with Inter in his trophy cabinet, the 2021-2022 Conference League won with the Roma jersey with one of his goals in the final and the Turkish championship won with Galatasaray in the 2022-2023 season. He’s been at Fiorentina since the end of this season’s winter market, after his farewell to Atalanta.
