The cage moves, the audience follows: it’s Movimelzo show
For the third consecutive year, Movimelzo’s Cage 3V3 sold out. Despite the move from Victory Square to Mascagni Park, the association’s youngsters managed to replicate the success of past editions.
The event began on Friday with the exciting performance of the Melzo Rhythmics, which was followed by the women’s tournament. Thanks to a resounding performance by Roberta Edoci, star of Doverese, a formation that plays in the Eccellenza championship, the Ducks won.
Saturday the kickoff was at 10:30 a.m. and throughout the day the men’s teams competed, which included well-known names in soccer from the Milanese hinterland and beyond. After Giulia Banchieri’s singing performance there was the final between FC Ignoranti and Milanographic, with the former winning the trophy despite the excellent performance of Andrea Forchini, MVP of the tournament.
Sunday morning in the Movimelzo Cage featured Monsignor Orsenigo and US Melzo, who entertained the youngest players with fun mini-games. In the late afternoon, the calciotennis tournament was held, won without too much difficulty by the Brena brothers, objectively of another category compared to the nevertheless very good competition.
“We are very satisfied with this weekend, despite the change of location we still managed to have a good visibility especially among young people. We thank the many young people who gave us a hand in the organization and management of the tournament, with a special mention for Gaspare and Orazio. We also thank the Municipal Administration for giving us the opportunity to reintroduce the Cage for the third consecutive year. Without the support of the sponsors we would never have been able to organize the event, to them goes a huge thank you. Supporting Movimelzo means believing in the value of sports, participation and the strength of the Melzo youth social fabric.
