Conference League 2024-2025: Rapid Vienna-Djurgarden, the likely lineups

Rapid Vienna and Djurgarden are playing each other Thursday night for a chance to make their way among the four Conference League semifinalists, a result that would save the Austrians’anonymous season and launch the Swedes&#8217 just-started domestic one. In the first leg, it was Rapid who imposed, 1-0: a Finndell’s own goal decided the match played seven days ago in Stockholm.

To coach the Viennese there is a German, Robert Klauss, born in 1984: to defend the advantage gained in the first leg, and why not expand it, he will rely on a classic 4-4-2, with Schaub and Seidl on the sides in midfield, while Kara and Beljo will be the offensive references. The green-and-whites are coming off a 2-0 success in the league derby against Austria Vienna, with Seidl and Sangare scoring.

On the other side, the coach is Finland&#8217s Jani Honkavaara, in his first experience outside his country&#8217s borders. The start of the season (which, as is the case in Sweden, is set for the spring) has been far from exciting, but the 49-year-old coach is ready to bet on a 4-2-3-1, with Nguen as the main reference d’attack supported by Zugelj, Gulliksen and Fallenius, to attempt the feat.

The Finnish team will be the first to play in the country&#8217s first team.
