Europa League 2024-2025: Eintracht Frankfurt-Tottenham, the likely lineups

Return of the Europa League quarterfinals between Eintracht Frankfurt and Tottenham, scheduled for 9 p.m. at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt. The first leg had ended in a 1-1 draw. Eintracht Frankfurt will play at home against Tottenham for a chance to return to the semifinals after three years. For the Adlerprosecutors, the excellent run at home also continues, with the weekend’s results strengthening their third place and access to the next Champions League. The first leg match also highlighted the defensive solidity of Toppmoller’s team ready to make the big jump to the European level as well.

For Spurs, on the other hand, a cursed season in the league that can in fact be saved only with a great performance in the Europa League. There remain the many doubts about Postecoglou management, down from last season with injuries that cannot fully justify this setback.

The German team will most likely line up with a 4-2-3-1. In goal comes down Kaua, who is called upon to provide security between the posts. In defense from right to left we find Kristensen, Koch, Theate and Brown, a line that combines physicality and experience. In midfield in front of the defense are Skhiri and Tuta. In the three-quarter there is space for Larsson wide on the right, Bahoya in the center and Ekitiké wide on the left, but with the freedom to center. In attack, the advanced reference is Ekitiké himself, who could also act as a false nine, or there could be a rotation between him and Bahoya in the offensive phase.

Tottenham, on the other hand, will most likely line up with a classic 4-3-3. In goal is Guglielmo Vicario, now a certainty among Spurs’ posts. In defense, the quartet consists of Pedro Porro on the right, Romero and Van de Ven in the center, with Udogie on the left. In midfield, Bergvall moves into the box, flanked by Bentancur and the more offensive Maddison, ready to slot in between the lines. In attack, the trident consists of Johnson on the right flank, Solanke as center forward and Son Heung-min wide left, the team’s technical and emotional leader.
