Europa League 2024-2025: Manchester United-Lyon, the likely lineups

Manchester United and Lyon return to compete in the Europa League quarterfinal return leg. Kickoff at 9 p.m. at Old Trafford. They restart from the 2-2 draw of the first leg, qualification still wide open: the semifinal with one between Athletic Bilbao and Rangers is up for grabs.

Amorim will rely on a 3-4-2-1: in attack, the center forward will be Hojlund, supported on the three-quarter by Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes. In defense, the trio will be led by Maguire, while Onana is confirmed between the posts. Heavy absences due to physical problems: out are Zirkzee, Diallo, Evans, Lisandro Martinez, Collyer and de Ligt.

Fonseca opts for a 4-2-3-1. In attack, Mikautadze will be the sole offensive reference, with Tolisso acting behind him in the three-quarter. In midfield, Tessmann and Veretout will form the pair in charge of shielding the defense, while on the side lanes it will be the turn of Tagliafico and Maitland-Niles. Nuamah and Fofana, both of whom are in the pits, will not be in the match.
