Roma, Matias Soulé winks at Massimiliano Allegri

Unless there are resounding second thoughts, the six games that will close Roma’s season will be the last on the bench for Claudio Ranieri, who has repeatedly expressed his desire to end his career as a club coach. Among the names circulating for his succession is that of Massimiliano Allegri: a coach for whom one of the current Giallorossi talents, Matias Soulé, has great admiration.
“From Allegri I learned a lot – explained the Argentine in an interview with ’Il Romanista’ -, then I went to Frosinone to play more, however I was with him for a year. The coach wanted us to play very tight to not let the ball pass and then go forward. I think for him the fundamental aspect is that. Then he is a coach who gives you a lot of freedom”.
The 2003-born fantasist played 21 games under the Livorno coach’s orders at Juventus in the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons. He also scored once, in the 4-2 loss to Sampdoria on March 12, 2023, scoring in 94′ what was in fact his first goal in Serie A. Soulé then left the Bianconeri club to go on loan to Frosinone, before his final transfer to Roma.
As for Allegri, this season the six-time Italian champion coach’s name has been approached not only by Roma for next year, but also by AC Milan for this same season. However, the 1967-born coach has decided to remain behind the scenes, although he is often seen in the stands of Serie A stadiums.
