ATP Munich, Alexander Zverev in semifinal comeback

Alexander Zverev flies into the semifinals at the Munich ATP 500. The German, after a battle lasting more than three hours, beat Tallon Griekspoor, avenging his defeat to the Dutchman in Indian Wells by winning in three sets with a score of 6-7 7-6 6-4.
Sascha will play his 25th ATP semifinal on clay, his fourth in Munich where he triumphed two years in a row, in 2017 and 2018. Griekspoor also served for the match at 5-4 in the second set but suffered Zverev’s comeback.
“I am extremely happy. I finally won a hard-fought match” said Zverev, who had won only half of the matches he had played (6 of 12) from the final of the Australian Open to the start of the Bavarian tournament.
“I lost a few in the last few months and I always said, ‘I have to come back and win a match like that’. I succeeded. I’m very happy with how I stayed in the match,” added Zverev, who will now face Hungary’s Fabian Marozsan.
