Como drops three: 3-0 net to Lecce, late night for Giampaolo

A brilliant, cynical and increasingly surprising Como rifles a very heavy 0-3 to Lecce at the “Via del Mare” and takes the stage on Saturday afternoon of Serie A. Cesc Fabregas’ team, clearly on the rise, wins its third consecutive victory (a goal the Larians have not achieved in A since way back in 1952) and puts in the safe a salvation that now appears much closer. For Lecce, on the other hand, it’s dark night: only 3 points in the last 10 matches, a worrying performance that projects the Salentini to just two points behind Venezia and Empoli, on the pitch tomorrow in the direct clash.

The match immediately set on favorable tracks for Como, masters of ball possession and adept at striking on the restart. After a balanced first phase, the turning point came on 33′ with Diao’s goal, masterfully served by an inspired Nico Paz. The action is initially annulled for offside, but VAR validates: it is 0-1.

In the second half, Lecce tried to fight back, but slammed against a Butez in a state of grace: the visiting goalkeeper said no to Morente and N’Dri, securing the lead. When Lecce pushes harder, the mockery arrives: in the 83rd minute Goldaniga, left culpably alone at the second post, doubles with a header. In the recovery, Diao signed his personal double and the final 0-3.

For Giampaolo, the situation is very complicated: Krstovic and Berisha, warned and cautioned, will miss the very delicate away match in Bergamo against Atalanta. The public booes and openly challenges the club, with chants against director Corvino. On the contrary, Fabregas smiles: Como plays, entertains and wins. And now he dreams big.
