Napoli doesn&#8217t give up: Antonio Conte&#8217s team folds Monza 1-0 in an away match thanks to McTominay&#8217s goal and momentarily reaches Inter at the top of the Serie A standings. The Azzurri struggled for most of the match, but settled the match in the second half thanks in part to a Turati error. Nesta’s Brianzoli one step away from arithmetic relegation to Serie B.

Disappointing first half for Napoli, which commands the game but does not break through and struggles to make itself dangerous. Conte’s team does not sting on the flanks and creates chances only on spot kicks or with some conclusions from distance. The best chances are surprisingly of the red and white brand, especially with Castrovilli who sends wide in front of Meret.

In the second half Conte inserted Anguissa for Gilmour, then Raspadori for Olivera. The partenopei begin to find more spaces, at 69′ Politano engages Turati with a diagonal left-footed shot. It’s the prelude to the goal, coming at 72′: Turati comes out late on Raspadori’s cross and McTominay immediately takes advantage with a header, putting his team ahead.

After the lead, Napoli wisely controlled, looking for the double with Lukaku, Raspadori and Di Lorenzo. For Conte, three points that sweep away the controversy that followed Saturday’s press conference: the fight for the Scudetto is more heated than ever.
