In October Papu Gomez’s disqualification will end and the Argentine can return to play. Interviewed by Sportmediaset, the’former Atalanta star revealed: “Some clubs have called my prosecutor to know how I am, when the disqualification ends and what my intentions are. I want to wait until the end of the season to see which team I might be good at, and then do the pre-season training camp and be at the top in October. I can still make a difference, my foot is hot”.

Papu offered himself to Serie A: “This year I really like Sassuolo, they play modern, entertaining and offensive soccer. I love teams that use a trequartista and two wings, so I also think of Italiano’s Bologna or Palladino’s Fiorentina, who are doing very well. And, of course, my Atalanta…”.

At Atalanta itself, there is much talk about the future of Gian Piero Gasperini: “There is a lot of talk about separation, but I doubt that the coach will leave Bergamo, if he hits the qualification for the next Champions League. In case of a farewell, just Palladino and Italiano, as well as Thiago Motta, could give continuity to Gasperini” project.

The Argentine champion glossed over by revealing some market background: “Adriano Galliani esteemed me. The first time he tried to get me was 2017: it was Berlusconi&#8217s last Milan, Montella was on the bench. In the end I stayed in Bergamo, because Atalanta had an ambitious project, my family was doing well and I had become one of the leaders of the team. Then I also said no to Lazio, while in 2013 Inter and Atletico” sought me.
