Milan, speeding up for new DS: Tare remains in pole, but D’Amico remains in the background

Acc Milan has entered the decisive phase of the search for a new sporting director. After weeks of talks and evaluations, the name at the top of the list remains that of Igli Tare, a former Lazio manager, with whom Giorgio Furlani, CEO of the Rossoneri club, is expected to have a second meeting. This is a strong signal, testifying to Milan’s desire to close the game soon, possibly by the first half of May.
The first face-to-face meeting between Tare and Furlani was described as “positive,” so much so that a new summit is expected in the coming days, with the aim of putting a definitive agreement on paper. The summer does not wait and so at this point the possible scenarios after this second meeting can only be two: either we say goodbye and move on. There is no shortage of alternatives, but the impression is that Milan is close to the choice of DS: the idea is to entrust Tare with the management of the upcoming summer market, which is essential to strengthen a squad that aims to return to prominence in Italy and Europe.
It is not yet time, however, to take everything for granted. Tony D’Amico, another strong name in the running for the DS role, continues to remain in Milan’s orbit. His quotes, according to sources close to the club, are reportedly on the rise: a sign that the Rossoneri want to keep more doors open, at least until the last confrontation with Tare.
In any case, time is running out. Summer, and with it the market, is fast approaching. Furlani knows this well: from him will pass the final decision that will shape Milan’s future. The next handshake could be the decisive one, the one that will kick off the construction of the new Rossoneri project.
