Dusan Vlahovic, it’s pitch black: Juventus loses him to injury

Another day to forget for Dusan Vlahovic in his haunted season with Juventus. The Serbian center forward, engaged as a starter in Parma by Igor Tudor, was forced to leave the field after only one half of play and a new performance to forget.

Remained in the locker room after halftime, Vlahovic did not leave the field due to a tactical choice of his coach. In fact, the former Fiorentina striker succumbed to a muscle problem: specifically a right thigh injury. A new mishap in the course of a season far below the ambitions and hopes of Juventus on his account.

After the disputed choices of Thiago Motta, who had partially put him on the fringes of his project at Juventus, Igor Tudor’s arrival on the Bianconeri bench seemed likely to coincide with a personal revival for Vlahovic. The numbers, however, have largely belied that prospect. So much so that the sirens about his possible move to the Premier League next season continue deafening.

To replace him, there is no shortage of names, but there are currently three main options: Victor Osimhen, an old darling, remains at the top of the management’s notebooks, as does Lorenzo Lucca. The news is that of an interest in Mateo Retegui, who would “surpass” his teammate at Atalanta, Ademola Lookman, in the preferences of the Juventus management. Newcastle and Manchester United, on the other hand, have inquired about Vlahovic, whose contract expires in June 2026.
