Federico Cinà repeats in Madrid: winning debut with Wong

After the victory at the’debut in a Masters 1000 in Miami, Federico Cinà confirmed himself at the ‘Mutua Madrid Open’ defeating Coleman Wong, world number 169, with the final score of 7-6 6-1 after almost one’hour and twenty minutes of play.

The Palermo native, who entered the draw thanks to a wildcard, lost only four points to the service in the first set. The Hong Kong tennis player is not to be outdone and so it comes down to the tie-break, won by the’Blue with a winning backhand response (7-5).

With the momentum of the score in his favor, Cina immediately flew ahead by a break (2-0) in the second partial, confirmed on serve (3-0). Wong moves the score in the fourth game, before suffering a new and decisive stretch by the Sicilian who closes on 6-1.

Thanks to this victory Cinà flies to the second round of the Madrid Masters 1000 where he will face the U.S. Sebastian Korda, number 24 in the ATP ranking and 23 in the seeding.
