Manchester United, coup on the way: deal with Matheus Cunha for 62.5 million

Manchester United is getting ready to pull off one of the first big hits of the summer market: according to the latest news coming from Brazil and confirmed by journalist Raisa Simplicio for Goal, the Red Devils have reportedly reached an agreement to purchase Wolverhampton striker Matheus Cunha. The deal would involve the payment of the rescission clause set at 62.5 million pounds, which will be paid in several installments.
The 25-year-old Brazilian, star of a brilliant season with Wolves – 16 goals and 4 assists so far – has attracted the attention of several clubs, including Arsenal and Nottingham Forest. However, it was United that made the decisive move, betting big on the former Atlético Madrid striker. Cunha, who only a few days ago scored the decisive goal in Wolves’ surprising win at’Old Trafford, seems destined to wear the Red Devils jersey even before the official opening of the market window.
United management, aware of the need for offensive reinforcements, considers Cunha the ideal profile to revive an advanced department that has struggled to find continuity this season. Coach Ruben Amorim, ahead of his first full year on the Manchester bench, is counting on the Brazilian striker as a key piece for his technical project.
Despite the absence (at the moment) of certainty about participation in the next Champions League, Cunha would be enthusiastic about the possibility of moving to Manchester, fascinated by the prestige of the club and the chance to play in a more competitive environment.
The transfer is not yet official, but there are all the prerequisites to see the Brazilian in action at Old Trafford.
