McLaren would like to give Fernando Alonso a new chance

McLaren would like to (again) Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard has previously raced with the papaya stable. Unfortunately, the results were not as hoped but his relationship with the McLaren team, particularly with Zak Brown, is still very good.

Zac Brown himself, on the sidelines of the Laureus Awards, revealed what one of his dreams is, which is to have Fernando Alonso back at McLaren. Mind you, not as a Formula 1 driver (Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are the present and future of the stable) but for other competitions in which McLaren aims to make its mark.

“He is one of my heroes… The car was clearly off the pace. Fernando is one of the best drivers in the world. He raced for McLaren, he is a good friend and I would like to see him again driving a McLaren”, the clear words Zac Brown released at the’event staged in Madrid.

Fernando Alonso, currently under contract with Aston Martin, could participate, with McLaren, in the WEC in 2027: “Fernando won at Le Mans, and we want to be there at Le Mans…”, the quip from Zac Brown himself. In short, the Spaniard, should he decide to move on in motorsport, will always be able to count on’friend Zac Brown in McLaren.
