Celtic is champion of Scotland for the 13th time in the last 14 years. The ‘Bhoys’ were mathematically assured of the title thanks to today’s 5-0 win over Dundee United, with goals by Kuhn (2) and Idah(2) and an own goal by Strain.

With today’s result, Celtic has an 18-point lead over ‘cousins’ Rangers, second in the standings but with only five games left to play, and thus unable to catch up with or overtake Brendan Rodgers’s green-and-whites, manager on his 11th trophy win at the helm of the Glasgow team.

Celtic also equaled the number of domestic titles won by its arch-rivals, 55. Now Celtic will have a chance to make it a double when it faces Palestinian striker Oday Dabbagh’s Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final in May. Aberdeen coached by Alex Ferguson was the last team to win a Scottish title before 22 won by Celtic and 18 by Rangers.
